Nicholas H. Smith
Nick is the Founder and CEO of Rice Park Capital Management, a Minneapolis-based investment firm focused on early/mid-stage technology-enabled real estate and finance companies that are leading the way in developing and deploying transformative solutions for large market places. At Rice Park Nick draws on an investing career spanning over twenty years at leading institutions.
Prior to founding Rice Park, Nick was the Chief Investment Officer for Blackstone’s residential mortgage REIT and the founding executive and President of Incenter, a Blackstone portfolio company. Prior to Blackstone, Nick served as Managing Director, Two Harbors Investment Corp (NYSE: TWO) where he built and led the investment platform for MSR and residential whole loans. Prior to TWO, Nick was Chief Investment Officer for Green Tree Investment Management (“GTIM”) where he was responsible for the residential mortgage investment platform. He was also the senior portfolio manager for a $1.45 billion private investment fund co-managed by GTIM. Nick began his career in 1998 and spent six years at GMAC-ResCap (formerly GMAC-RFC) in a variety of roles on the mortgage trading desk and in corporate development where he led the valuation of equity investments in U.S., Asian and European consumer finance companies.
